Kingdom Come Deliverance: Henry's New Life

Henry was rescued by Theresa and a party from Talmberg and he woke up at the mill operated by Theresa’s dad. Other than Theresa, no one seemed very happy with him. Mollifying the miller involved grave robbing and more lockpicking. Henry then informed Sir Radzig about his lost sword. He somehow convinced Sir Radzig to employ him. Sir Radzig really must know something the rest of us don’t. Henry got some training and was assigned to town patrol. We met an elite character that seems about as bright as Henry. During cut scenes Henry engages in some alarming behaviour. I hope this changes but I doubt it somehow. He was sent hunting with his new nemesis but he managed to do something heroic for once, made an influential friend and got the best reward so far which is Pebbles the horse. Unfortunately, he did not learn how to hit anything with a bow.

Pebbles is part mule and part get a way car. She seems to reside in some always accessible ephemeral place and appears instantaneously when summoned. She usually stands quietly wherever she’s left. She’s a bit of a bumpy ride though. It will be fun to compare her with other horses. If ever Henry can afford one.

Henry’s next assignment seemed imperative and I made the bad decision of sending a hungry Henry with no food. He had a nourishing bottle of alcohol though and drank that. As Pebbles cantered along, Henry’s vision blurred completely. He still managed but his stats were impaired a little. He found himself investigating a mass murder scene. This led him off the beaten path and it was not long before he was bested by a bandit. He decided to trudge back to town and ask Captain Bernard for help. He was assigned a reluctant companion who helped him defeat the bandit. I am not sure whether Henry accidentally hit his companion or if the soldier took a dim view of looting corpses but Henry found himself in conflict. He surrendered but was sent to jail for ten days. I had to watch the clock for ten in game days. I tried to interrupt it and reload but I could not. He eventually was released in Talmberg. This is the first time I got really frustrated with the game. So after a reload, Henry trudged back to town for help again. I do not know what happened this time but at some point I noticed Henry’s ally was not with him. Henry got killed while searching for him. I reloaded and Henry finally managed to complete this and the next quest.
